WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh is seeking an intelligent and motivated Survey Research Associate with a background in quantitative social science and survey research. This individual's primary responsibility would be to support a portfolio of social science research projects for our Military Health and Wellbeing Research team. This individual would work in a researcher role, providing expertise to improve service members' well-being and inform policies and organizational decision making. Responsibilities include: Analytical and Technical Skills <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Support the production of literature reviews spanning across disciplines and synthesize information. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Able to support all phases of the social science analytics process, including the design, analysis, and interpretation of survey research, and integrated datasets (e.g., survey data integrated with administrative data). </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Support survey question development/adaptation, layout, and structure of surveys to meet specific research objectives. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Apply best practices in survey design, sampling, and data collection methodologies. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Support testing of surveys (e.g., pilot testing, cognitive interviews) to ensure clarity, reliability, and respondent engagement. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Resolves problems that require general knowledge of analytic methodologies and principles, as well as the ability to learn new techniques quickly. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Conducts analysis and writing syntax in R. </li></ul> Project Management and Coordination <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Support the development, implementation, and analysis of research projects examining topics related to service member well-being, such as sexual harassment, sexual assault, ethnic/racial discrimination, and suicide ideation/attempt in the military. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Manage project tasks with support from the project manager by coordinating with internal resources, ensuring quality control, and maintaining effective communication with team members. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Plan and assign tasks to team members and monitor their progress to ensure timely completion. </li></ul> Team Orientation <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Work with a mixed team of data and social scientists to operationalize personnel-related metrics and explore, aggregate, and analyze large, complex quantitative data sets through a variety of techniques in R and other software. </li></ul> Client and Stakeholder Interaction and Communication <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Directly interface with clients to communicate the most pertinent analysis results in a way that is useful and easy to understand. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Assist in preparing research reports/briefs for the analyst and non-analyst audiences, written proposals, and other internal or external communications summarizing research methods, findings, and implications. </li></ul> Qualifications: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Graduate degree in social science (e.g., sociology, political science, psychology) or related field. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> PhD with 1-2 years industry experience, or, Master's degree with 3+ years of applicable industry experience. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to describe technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Ability to work effectively independently and as a team member. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience developing and testing survey questionnaires and analyzing complex survey data. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience working with diverse data sources, including survey, personnel, and administrative data. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience conducting quantitative research. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Knowledge and experience of quantitative methodologies such as regression, factor analysis, and/or multilevel modeling. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience working in R/R Studio. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience working with large data sets. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience working with weighted survey data and strong understanding of survey weights. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience and knowledge of quantitative research methodologies including regression techniques. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Must be a US Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information. </li></ul> We Offer: Our benefits typically meet or exceed our competitors' packages.
