The Role The Senior Financial Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring both accurate financial reporting and comprehensive tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. In addition to managing general ledger accuracy, this role will place a stronger emphasis on tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, adherence to local market regulations, and the optimisation of tax strategies to minimise liabilities. This individual will also manage a team of remote accountants, drive process improvements, and contribute to internal and external reporting. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & GL Management: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Oversee the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Perform monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, resolving any variances promptly. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Support the timely and accurate reporting of consolidated monthly results, including analysis of variances against budget and forecast. </li></ul> Tax Compliance (Primary Focus): <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Ensure full compliance with corporate tax laws across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, France, Germany, Spain, North America and any other relevant regions. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Prepare and file accurate corporate tax returns, identifying deductions, credits, and deferrals to optimise the company's tax position. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and advise senior management on implications and best practices. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Collaborate with external tax advisors on complex tax matters and audits. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Provide tax-related reports and guidance to internal stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making. </li></ul> Process Improvement: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Drive efficiency improvements in the month-end close process and ensure compliance with accounting standards. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Document and streamline internal processes, working closely with other team leads to improve the finance function. </li></ul> Team Management: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Manage and mentor a remote team of accountants based in the Philippines, ensuring high performance in day-to-day tasks. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Ensure clear communication and collaboration between the remote team and internal finance functions. </li></ul> Audit & Internal Reporting: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Assist with audit preparations and provide support during external audits. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, delivering accurate internal reports on tax positions, financial results, and compliance. </li></ul> Consolidations & Intercompany Reconciliations: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Complete financial consolidations and ensure accuracy in intercompany reconciliations. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Support group-level reporting and compliance with local market regulations. </li></ul> Requirements Education: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> CA or CPA qualification (CA preferred) </li></ul> Experience: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on tax compliance. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Proven experience in preparing and filing corporate tax returns. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience in managing a team, ideally 2 or more people. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Prior experience with audit exposure and tax compliance in jurisdictions such as the UK, France, Germany, Spain, North America is highly desirable. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Familiarity with inventory and asset management processes is a bonus. </li></ul> Skills: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0;
