Your primary goal is bridging the gap between design and development by creating and maintaining our design system and UI component library. You will utilize processes and best practices to ensure a consistent and maintainable experience with our UI components for our designers and developers, and delivering a world class UI framework. You will work on building / updating individual UI components, providing documentation in Storybook, updating instances in our web application and ensuring the components are properly tested and usable for our build teams. You will work closely with our designers, other UI team members and developers to continuously advance our design direction and design patterns. </p><p style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> The compensation band for this role ranges from $120K - $160K CDN. </p><div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"><strong> What you’ll do: </strong></div><ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Architecting and building new UI components for our React UI Component library and design system </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Maintaining and improving existing UI components, testing and updating changes in the application and adding documentation in Storybook </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Working with the designers and build team developers to enable best practices and ensuring consistency with our design patterns that translate to development </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Contributing to and maintaining the CoLab Design Pattern Library and Figma Components in Figma </li></ul><div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"><strong> What you’ll need: </strong></div><ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> 2+ years experience with design systems and a demonstrated ability and understanding of bridging the gap with reusable UI components for design to development </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> 2+ years experience with React frontend development </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> 2+ years experience in HTML5/SASS/CSS and styled components that are pixel-perfect with impeccable attention to detail to UI </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience using design tools like Figma and creating Figma components and style libraries </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience using design systems and tools like Storybook </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience with frontend testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, Karma or Cypress </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Proficiency in product design and design thinking processes </li></ul></p></div></div>
