You’ll join a team of tech-savvy legal professionals that partner with the business to launch powerful and trustworthy, safe products. We believe in putting the customer first, making smart risk-based decisions, and playing as a team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal framework that supports Jimdo's innovative products and services and alleviates the mental compliance load of Jimdo’s customers. Learn more about the legal set-up at Jimdo on our Legal Customer Center. <div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> What you’ll be doing: </div><ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Partner with all departments to launch products and features in alignment with legal requirements and customer needs. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Track and provide guidance on novel Legal issues impacting Jimdo, including the AI Act, the Data Act as well as the CSRD. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various contracts, including international SaaS agreements, DPAs and partnership contracts. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Conduct data protection assessments and advise business teams on compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, including data collection and use. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Implement changes to cross-functional processes and procedures in anticipation of regulatory and business developments. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Create and update enablement materials (training, written guidance, shorts/videos) for legal team members and cross-functional stakeholders on current and emerging Legal issues. </li></ul><div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> What you bring to the table: </div><ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> A desire to understand our products and a passion for innovation at the intersection of law, tech and business. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> You have a “can do” attitude. Our Legal team creates high-quality work on quick timelines. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> You take a practical approach to lawyering and are able to balance legal considerations with business objectives, making smart, risk-based decisions. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Excellent ability to simplify complex legal and technical concepts into clear, actionable advice. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with basic business acumen. </li></ul> Formalities: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Bachelor of Laws or the 1st State Examination (Staatsexamen); an LL.M. in IT/Information Law, Contract Law or Data Law is a plus. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> 3-5 years of relevant legal experience at a comparable in-house practice, with around 2 years in a tech environment </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Strong understanding of German law, with business fluency in both English and German. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, Jira and ChatGPT </li></ul> Nice to have: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Familiarity with any of the following: JURO (or another CLM), Asana, Adobe Pro, Adobe Sign, Canva, Miro, Fides, BeckOnline </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Good understanding of a SaaS b2b business model and terminology </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> First experience with the Legal Design approach </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Enthusiastic about AI tools, including ML and LLMs, and their application to Jimdo products. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Knowledgeable in the legal and ethical implications of AI, especially in large language models and machine learning systems. </li></ul><div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> What we offer: </div> Inspiring Mission: At our core, we are driven by a meaningful mission - to empower solopreneurs and small businesses to succeed and to contribute to the sustainability and vibrancy of the communities they serve.
