The Department: Finance The Financial Operations and Accounting Teams at Gemini are thought leaders in the digital asset accounting and reconciliation space. Our mandate is to bridge the traditional world of finance with the innovation of cryptocurrency products, providing our clients with a best-in-class financial institution experience. The Role: Senior Accountant (Digital Assets) Gemini is looking to hire a dynamic accounting senior associate responsible for enhancing our monthly close process, leading process improvement projects, and supporting various accounting functions. You’ll be joining a rapidly growing and high quality, established digital asset exchange that is regulated by the New York State Department of Financial Services and others globally. This appointment will be central to our continued scaling as an organization and efforts to increase transparency and public company readiness. This role will be involved in key/high priority growth projects impacting the Finance department as well as the overall organization. Responsibilities: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Perform daily and month-end responsibilities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis related to digital assets and revenue </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Responsible for the accounting and reporting for Gemini’s cryptocurrency transactions, including the tracking and accounting for transactions, gains, losses, and holdings </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Assist in the development and implementation of scalable accounting processes to facilitate timely and accurate close processes and financial reporting </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Treasury, Data, Finance, and Product teams </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Support external relationships with audit professionals, consultants, and tax advisors, inclusive of networking and building contingency plans for possible future transactions and related accounting permutations </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Assist with outsourcing financial activities to Gemini affiliates and any sub-outsourcing to third party service providers, ensuring services are provided in accordance with the respective regulatory requirements and internal policies, processes and procedures and agreed service level agreement </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Execute ad hoc accounting tasks and special projects as they arise, ensuring timely and accurate completion to support the dynamic needs of the organization </li></ul> Qualifications: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> An undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, finance or related field </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> 4+ years work experience in accounting </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> CPA (or equivalent license) preferred </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> An understanding of consolidation, fair value, and ASC 606 accounting </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting fundamentals </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience in a regulated industry, preferably financial services or crypto </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced and changing financial environment with the demonstrated capacity for excellent judgment, communication, and negotiation skills </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Outstanding interpersonal skills and relationship building abilities </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage deadlines and responsibilities effectively; ability to multitask and work successfully under pressure </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience working in an accounting function within a large enterprise general ledger (Sage Intacct, Netsuite, etc…) </li></ul><div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> It Pays to Work Here </div><div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"></div><div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> The compensation & benefits package for this role includes: </div><ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Competitive starting salary </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> A discretionary annual bonus </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Long-term incentive in the form of a new hire equity grant </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Comprehensive health plans </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> 401K with company matching </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Paid Parental Leave </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Flexible time off </li></ul> Salary Range : The base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $119,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington.
