We are seeking talented individuals who are excited by our mission to revolutionize & elevate the car buying & selling experience. </div> The Opportunity: TrueCar seeks a Manager, Data Engineering to join our fast-paced team. Collaborating in a highly dynamic environment, you will manage a talented team of engineers to enhance our online platform and revolutionize the car buying experience. How you will contribute to TrueCar’s success: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Lead and grow a team of exceptional data engineers. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Own product roadmaps, projects, and outcomes throughout their life cycles. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Provide technical guidance through coaching, code review, and architectural input. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Collaborate in shaping the technical roadmap for the engineering team. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Influence decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Collaborate with product managers, designers, and business partners to prioritize work and set team goals. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Refine engineering practices and drive positive change within the team. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Champion your team’s work across the organization. </li></ul> Your Expertise: <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Strong ability to build partnerships within a fast-moving, results-oriented organization. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience enhancing engineering standards, tooling, and processes. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Hands-on management style with the ability to mentor and inspire others. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Proven experience in building and growing teams of exceptional data engineers and technical leaders. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Expertise in batch (e.g. Airflow) and streaming (e.g. Spark) data pipelines with demonstrated experience in achieving data delivery SLAs </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. HBase, AWS Redshift) with extensive experience in at least one system </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Hands-on experience with Java or Python </li></ul> Base salary range: $141,000 - $188,000 <div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> Your TrueCar Experience As a crew member, you’ll be primarily based out of your home as a part of our Dynamic Workplace strategy.
