Ensure high programming standards, create best practices, and lead by example. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Partner with Product Management, provide technical input to shape product direction and roadmap. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Foster a culture of technical excellence, humility, constant improvement, and rigor to build a team that can confidently tackle complex challenges across multiple technical domains. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Be hands on. Build APIs and data models to work within micro-service and event-driven architectures. Create parallelizable and idempotent batch jobs to process large amounts of data. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Take an active role in mentoring engineers and senior leaders, and the processes that support team growth and efficiency. </li></ul><div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> What we look for </div><ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> 10+ years of experience as a software engineer </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Ability to synthesize complex business, product, and technical requirements to consistently produce high quality system designs and software. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> A strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> A strong understanding of machine learning and modeling techniques at scale </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be proficient in asynchronous communication – written tech specs, wiki, project plans, etc. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Excellent project management skills – high degree of organization and ability to surface critical information effectively. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Business impact focus, pragmatic approach to delivering projects on time and safely. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Passion for working with cross-functional teams including Product, Risk, Analytics etc. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Python/Kotlin development experience is a plus. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience with Fintech or regulatory industries is a plus. </li></ul><div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> Compensation & Benefits </div> Base Pay Grade - R Equity Grade - Poland 6 Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).
