Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be a part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of new software products, in addition to enhancing existing products. You should excel in working with large-scale applications and frameworks and have outstanding communication skills. We’re big on ownership and accountability so experience of working in an environment where you are responsible for your code all the way through to monitoring it in production is a big plus. And you’ll be joining one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK, according to Deloitte Fast 50. <div style="padding: 0; margin: 15px 0 15px 0"> About the role </div> As a senior engineer in the team, you will be expected to also contribute towards the team’s technical direction, acting as a technical escalation point and mentoring more junior members of staff. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you will also be responsible for contributing along with the rest of the team to planning the content of the sprint with your EM and Product Owner. As a senior engineer your responsibilities will include <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Maintaining a healthy and organised backlog </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Designing and delivering work items in Azure DevOps for the services your team owns with the team </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Contributing to estimates for large pieces of work for potential customers and contributing to quarterly planning </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Ensuring you have adequate monitoring in place to respond to alerts in any environments for the services you own </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Responding to any Pager Duty alerts for systems that your team owns </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Investigating any incidents and conducts post incident reviews with actions </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Identifying and owning tech improvements </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Having a strong focus on continuous improvement around ways of working </li></ul> Requirements In addition to your technical knowledge, we are looking for motivated team players who are delivery focused and can suggest solutions as to how things can be done better - we’re always looking to improve and do things differently.
