WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh is seeking a technical editor to edit client deliverables and internal documents for completeness, accuracy, style, and inclusivity. As part of the Technical Editing team, this individual will work with Fors Marsh project and research teams to provide comprehensive editing support to a variety of documents, ensuring they are free of errors and meet editorial and client specifications as well as standards for quality, format, and style. This job is best suited for an individual who is experienced at providing detail-oriented reviews while ensuring a high level of excellence in the areas of diction, grammar, punctuation, and clarity. *This is a 9-month temporary opportunity, not a permanent position, requiring f ull-time hours (40 hours per week). Fors Marsh will assess the need to continue this engagement towards the end of the 9-month assignment. Responsibilities include : <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Providing comprehensive editing for various deliverables, including research papers, technical reports, surveys, and marketing materials. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Reviewing content and form for completeness, accuracy, and organization. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Editing documents to match client-specific style guides and ensuring adherence to editorial standards. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Receiving and processing editorial review requests from research/technical staff. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Offering detail-oriented reviews while maintaining excellence in language, style, and clarity. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Collaborating with research/technical staff to recommend formatting improvements. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Ensuring timely completion of assignments according to established standards. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Working collaboratively with members of the Technical Editing team. </li></ul> Qualifications : <ul style="margin: 15px 0 15px 0; padding: 0 0 0 20px"><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Three or more years of experience in writing or editing, especially technical materials. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in areas such as journalism, English, business, public policy, or related disciplines. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work on cross-functional teams. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Strong written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks successfully under tight deadlines. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Knowledge of MS Word and other MS applications; capable of creating, editing, and manipulating PDF documents. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Experience working in federal contracting environment a plus. </li><li style="margin-bottom: 5px"> Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements. </li></ul> We Offer: Our benefits typically meet or exceed our competitors' packages.
